Product Description

tert-Butanol (tert-butyl alcohol, t-BuOH) is a tertiary alcohol commonly supplied as technical and reagent grades for use as an industrial solvent, synthesis intermediate and denaturant. It is distributed in both bulk liquid and packaged formats with lot COA to support procurement and quality control.

Application

  • Industrial solvent
Used as a polar aprotic solvent and co-solvent in coatings, adhesives, cleaning formulations and laboratory processes.
  • Chemical intermediate for ether/tertiary derivatives
Feedstock / intermediate in synthesis of tert-butyl derivatives (e.g., MTBE precursors) and other specialty chemicals.
  • Ethanol denaturant and gasoline additive intermediate
Used as denaturant component for fuel ethanol and as intermediate in oxygenate production.
  • Laboratory reagent and analytical standard
Reagent-grade material for synthesis, chromatography and method development.
  • Pharmaceutical / fragrance intermediate (industrial)
Intermediate in synthesis routes — regulatory qualification required for any direct consumer-facing uses.
