Pyromellitic Dianhydride (PMDA) (benzene-1,2,4,5-tetracarboxylic dianhydride; CAS 89-32-7) is a highly functional aromatic dianhydride supplied commercially as a white to off-white crystalline powder. PMDA is a principal tetracarboxylic dianhydride for the manufacture of high-performance polyimides and is widely used as a monomeric building block and crosslinker in high-temperature resins, adhesives and electronic materials. Polyimide Monomer (High-Temperature Polymers)
Used as a tetracarboxylic dianhydride monomer in polycondensation with aromatic diamines to produce high-performance polyimides (films, fibers, coatings) characterized by exceptional thermal stability and mechanical properties. -
Epoxy / Thermoset Crosslinker
Employed as a reactive anhydride curing agent or co-anhydride to increase crosslink density and thermal performance of epoxy and other thermoset systems for electronic encapsulants and adhesives. -
