Product Description

Potassium Fluorosilicate (CAS 16871-90-2) is an inorganic potassium salt of silicon and fluoride that appears as a white crystalline powder. It is used where a non-volatile, solid fluorosilicate is required as a feedstock or intermediate in ceramics, glass, surface finishes and select specialty chemical syntheses. Product is supplied in industrial/technical grades with trace-impurity control suitable for manufacturing uses.

Application

  • Ceramic and glass frits & glazes
    Used as a fluorosilicate source in specialty ceramic glazes and glass formulations to modify melting behavior, gloss and chemical resistance.
  • Surface treatment & metal finishing
    Used in formulations for conversion coating or proprietary surface-treatment chemistries where fluorosilicate anion imparts desired characteristics.
  • Specialty chemical intermediate
    Serves as a non-volatile fluorosilicate feedstock for manufacture of fluorosilicate-based intermediates and additives.
  • Pigment & coating additives
    Used in select pigment or additive routes where controlled release of fluoride species from a solid matrix is required.
