Dipropylenetriamine (common name DPTA; chemical family: aliphatic polyamines) is a versatile triamine frequently used as an epoxy curing agent, intermediate for surfactants and specialty chemicals, and as a building block in polymer and chelating-agent manufacture.
Storage & handling
Store in original, tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Recommended storage practices include segregation from oxidizing agents and acids, protection from direct sunlight and heat, and use of secondary containment for bulk packs. Many suppliers recommend cool storage and inert-gas blanketing for long-term storage of high-purity lots; always follow the lot SDS and COA for supplier-specific instructions. Use engineering controls to avoid inhalation and prevent skin/eye contact; handle under appropriate PPE.
Application
Epoxy curing / adhesives and coatings
