Product Description

Product Introduction

Carbazole (CAS 86-74-8), also referred to as Dibenzopyrrole or 9-Azafluorene, is a tricyclic aromatic heterocyclic organic compound with the molecular formula C12H9N. It appears as white to pale yellow crystals or powder. Carbazole (CAS 86-74-8) is a fundamental structural unit in materials science, particularly valued for its excellent optoelectronic properties and thermal stability. It serves as a vital intermediate in the production of high-value pigments, photo-conductive polymers, and pharmaceuticals.

Product Selling Points

  • High Purity (≥ 99.0%): Chemfine offers refined Carbazole with strictly controlled levels of sulfur and ash, suitable for demanding synthesis.

  • Electronic Grade Available: Specialized batches with ultra-low trace metal content for use in organic electronics (OLED/OPV).

  • Excellent Thermal Stability: High melting point and structural rigidity make it ideal for high-performance polymer applications.

  • Low Moisture Content (≤ 0.5%): Ensures consistent performance in anhydrous reaction environments.

  • Versatile Derivative Potential: Easily functionalized at the 3, 6, or 9 positions for diverse chemical applications.

  • Stable Global Supply: Consistent inventory for large-scale industrial manufacturing of pigments and stabilizers.

Applications

OLED and Photoelectric Materials Carbazole is a core building block for hole-transporting materials (HTM) and host materials in Organic Light-Emitting Diodes (OLEDs) due to its high triplet energy and good charge transport capabilities.

Pigment and Dye Industry The primary raw material for the production of Pigment Violet 23 (Dioxazine Violet), a high-performance pigment used in plastics, coatings, and inks.

Pharmaceutical Synthesis Used as an intermediate in the synthesis of various drugs, including anti-inflammatory agents, cardiovascular medications, and antitumor alkaloids.

Polymer and Plastics Used to manufacture Polyvinylcarbazole (PVK), a photoconductive polymer utilized in electrophotography and specialized optical devices.

Agrochemicals and Stabilizers Acts as a precursor for certain pesticides and as a UV stabilizer for plastics and resins.

Packaging

Standard industrial packaging options for Carbazole include:

  • 25kg fiber drums with double-layer PE moisture-proof inner bags (Standard export packaging).

  • 500kg or 1000kg jumbo bags for large-scale industrial pigment production.

  • Custom small-volume packaging available for laboratory R&D.

Storage

Carbazole is a stable solid. It should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse. Keep containers tightly sealed and protected from direct sunlight. Store away from strong oxidizing agents. Ensure proper grounding during handling to prevent static discharge in dusty environments. Properly stored, it has a shelf life of 36 months.
