Ammonium Peroxodisulfate (CAS 7727-54-0) is a strong inorganic oxidizer in crystalline form. In industrial practice it is used as a reliable free-radical initiator for emulsion and solution polymerizations, as an oxidant in organic and inorganic syntheses, and as a process chemical for etching, cleaning and surface treatments. Commercial supply is offered in multiple grades with COA for quality control and process qualification.
Application
- Polymerization initiator (emulsion & solution polymerization)
Used as a water-soluble free-radical initiator for producing styrenic, acrylate, vinyl and other polymers in emulsion and solution processes. - Oxidizing agent in chemical synthesis
Applied as a controlled inorganic oxidant in organic and inorganic transformations, including oxidative cleavage and functional-group conversion. - Etching / metal surface treatment
Employed in formulations for PCB etching, metal surface activation and specialty cleaning where controlled oxidative action is required. - Textile and pulp bleaching / processing
Used in select textile and pulp processes as an oxidant for bleaching and chemical modification steps. - Analytical reagent & laboratory use
Supplied in small packs as a reagent for redox titrations, analytical procedures and laboratory-scale syntheses.
