Product Description

2-(Dimethylamino)ethyl Methacrylate (DMAEMA) is a tertiary-amino functional methacrylate monomer supplied in industrial and reagent grades. DMAEMA is widely used as a reactive monomer to introduce tertiary amine functionality into acrylic polymers and copolymers, enabling pH-responsive behavior, cationic charge, and post-modification (quaternization). Commercial supply is offered with lot COA, inhibitor management and packaging options suitable for polymerization feed and formulation work.

Applications

  • Cationic and pH-responsive polymers
    Used as a comonomer to produce cationic, pH-responsive and tertiary-amine-functional acrylic polymers (water-soluble polyelectrolytes, responsive hydrogels and flocculants).

  • Adhesives & coatings
    Introduces adhesion, wet-tack and conditioning functionality into acrylic adhesives and waterborne coatings; used in pressure-sensitive adhesives and surface-active formulations.

  • Water-treatment & flocculants
    Building block for cationic polyelectrolytes used in sludge dewatering, clarification and flocculation applications.

  • Paper & pulp chemistry
    Used to modify retention aids, dry strength agents and surface-conditioning polymers in paper manufacture.

  • Textile & finishing auxiliaries
    Monomer for cationic polymers used in textile treatment, dye-fixation and anti-static finishes.

  • Gene delivery / biomedical research polymers (R&D)
    Precursor for tertiary-amine containing polymers applied in research for transfection, responsive hydrogels and biomedical material platforms (research quality, regulatory qualification required for clinical use).

  • Ion-exchange and chelating resins
    Co-monomer for preparation of functional resins where tertiary amine groups enable post-quaternization and ionic binding.
