Product introduction
1-Propanol (n-Propanol; CAS 71-23-8) is a primary linear alcohol supplied commercially as a clear, colourless liquid. It is widely used as an industrial solvent and process intermediate where medium-polarity, low-aromatic solvency and controlled evaporation rate are required. Typical application areas include coatings and inks, resin and adhesive formulation, extraction and chemical synthesis, laboratory and analytical work, and cleaning/degreasing processes. Product grades range from technical to reagent and high-purity specifications; request lot Certificate of Analysis (CoA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before qualification.
Applications & Descriptions
-
Solvent For Coatings & Inks
Used as a formulation solvent and co-solvent in solventborne and some specialty waterborne coatings, inks and varnishes to balance solvency, drying rate and film formation. -
Chemical Intermediate
Employed as a feedstock and reagent in organic synthesis and chemical manufacture where a primary alcohol functionality is required. -
Extraction & Process Solvent
Applied in extraction processes and separation workflows in industrial and laboratory settings where selective solvency and controlled volatility are needed. -
Cleaning, Degreasing & Metalworking
Used in industrial cleaners, degreasers and metal-working fluids for removal of oils, greases and residues; compatible with appropriate elastomers and metals per formulation. -
Laboratory & Analytical Reagent
Supplied for R&D and analytical applications as a solvent, reaction medium and standard; select reagent grade for trace-level work. -
Denaturant / Formulation Agent
Utilised as a denaturant component or co-solvent in specialised formulation chemistry where regulatory allowances permit.
